Is U.C. Irvine in the top 10 public schools in the nation list?

UC Irvine may have a few programs that are top-notch, but in general no. Oh, and the US News and World reports make much better firestarter that they do actuall college rankings - don't trust them, find a school that fits you, not the school that threw the most attention at the USN%26amp;WR goon.

It is very very likely that a specific department at UCI might be ranked among the top ten in the nation. However, as a whole, although the university IS ranked in the top like 60 universities in the U.S it is NOT in the top 10. Then top ten are the ivy league schools: Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Princeton, MIT, etc. then you get the University of Chicago, UC Berkeley, Cornell, etc then UCLA, USC, etc and then in the 40's or so i think is where UCI is.

Reply:Not sure. I think it's a pretty good school. It depends on what your major is. If you want an even cheaper education, and one that is just as good. Try getting into CSU Long Beach for undergraduate. It's a very nice campus. Then, if you plan on further education, go to UCI.
