How do I set the priority or the order of the program list or remove program when I right click a jpeg or avi?

It's frustrating b/c when I click on a photo I saved on my computer, the program that first listed on the program list (when you right click and hite lite open with) can't view the photo. And I can't seem to set the preference or otherwise. HELP anyone

How do I set the priority or the order of the program list or remove program when I right click a jpeg or avi?
right click on the icon, click open with and then click choose a program. in the window that opens, click the program you want and then check "always use this program to open this kind of file and click ok.
